The killings of Habesha and Nuer by Anyuak extremist means business as usual. Nothing short of that. On 27/07/2023, Anyuak gun men stormed Habesha businesses in their neighbourhood of 05 Kebele. They raided shops owned by Habesha at gun point and took items away.

They have been doing it to feed their fighters who came from all accross Anyuak zone to Gambella for their war against the Nuer. Eyewitnesses said a store was established by the robers and sell tainted products to the fighters and those displaced by war in a cheaper price.

When these group raid one of the shops, the shopkeeper tried to resist the burglers. That resulted in their death. Three of them were masscred and their products were looted.

Gambella has never been that bad mostly because killers are on the loose everytime they took lives of innocent people. These burgelers, theives or robbers depending how you call them have been robbing businesses of Habesha in Anyuak sefer since the fighting broke out.

Many Habesha are now moving out to Nuer neighbourhood to do businesses becausenobody robbes them. The store for the stolen products is in Gambella stadium. The ENDF has since investigated that and the Anyuaks are now shifting to other areas to take their looted products.
