There is no shortage of evil in Gambella. Because of the violence initiated by GPLM to drive Nuer out of Gambella, the movement of people is limited between the Gambella town and the woredas particulalry the Nuer Zone because of the Anyuak attack on passenger buses. Passengers are the prime target of the Anyuak evils who get glorification after taking the lives of innocent people they never met.
Because of this motive, a chartered bus was arranged by the regional authority to bring students from the Nuer Zone to sit for the year 12 examination. Students from social sceince have already completed their examination and were due for return back to their woredas.
However, the Lare School Principla who was in charge of students who went to Gambella swapped the seats of many of the children and gave them to his family or to the stranded Nuers who paid him big money to go to Nuer Zone. There was no mulpratice raisd about students from Jokow, Akobo or Wanthoa. It seemed principles of those woredas did the right thing.
As for Lare students, they screamed louder than a thunderstorm begged him not to leave them behind showing their IDs to him but he shut the door and said,Β “I will come back”. The Federal Police was also there and was beating children who hold their IDs showing their identity that they actually came from from Lare and would like to go back as they do not live in Gambella.
A lot of children were left. One of the students who tried to jump in knowing he was a legible passenger was beaten and now he is in the Gambella Primary Hospital. As the kids saw that, they just could not talk no more but holding their heads in disblief. They are now in Gambella with no food to eat and with no mean to get to their families;
The corrupt regime of Thankuey and Omot does not end with them. Most of the Gambella employee in many departments are corrupt and that include the school director of Lare district. The Department of Education needs to investigate this and provide transport and security for these kids who were left behind.
These problems Gambella face makes you wish to swap Gambella for a state in western worldΒ for 48 hours. All these corrupt workers from top to bottom would find it hard holding their positions. But at this moment, it is a sad situation especially when you look at what is happening from western perspective. What yiu fine is acts of evil everywhere and the worst thing is that it is adored and praised. In the western world, those should hang their heads in shame.
The Anyuak GPLM on their part ranks first on the list for killing innocents with an ideology that will eventually extinct the Anyuak society if they wish to continue. The Nuer will organise and fight back. But you get Nuer too who are benefitting from GPLM’s anarchy doing unthinkable things such as what the Lare School director was accused of doing. They all have become evils benefiting from state resources that they do not own.
The People in Lare must talk to Lare Woreda Head and inform Thankuey and Omot how this came about so that their children must be reunitedΒ with them and come back safely.
